The Beginning

Do you ever watch the news? Wow, it can be pretty scary at times. Not only things that are happening throughout the world but also things that are happening right here in the United States. There are natural disasters happening almost every day. Not to mention the man made disasters, whether they are intentional or accidents the results can still be awful. There are wars all around the globe. The economy is not is very good shape and it doesn’t look like it is going to get better anytime soon. And that isn’t just the United States economy, I’m talking about the world economy.

Have you read the list of chemicals that are found in the food you eat? Maybe you shouldn’t. No, you really should. However it will probably take a dictionary for you to figure out what half the junk is that they put in our food. Did you ever think about why they use the complicated names even when the substance has a simpler name? Could it be they don’t want us to know what is in there?

The government of the United States seems to be running on hot air. Nothing seems to be working like our founding fathers intended. Laws are made by the stroke of a pen now. Sometimes by lowly government officials in the EPA, IRS or some other agency. Or sometimes by the president of the United States. The representatives you elect seem to have no say in what goes on in this country from the city level all the way to the federal level. Is it time to panic?

I don’t think so. But it is time to prepare! Just like gas prices, they go up and up and never come down significantly. So the things in our country seem to be getting worse and worse. Do we see more natural disasters today than in the past or is it just that we have better information available to us today. Now we know about an earthquake in China a few minutes after it happens instead of days, or months or years. The first thing you need to know is: Don’t Panic. PREPARE! You prepare for the unexpected by purchasing life insurance, automobile insurance, health insurance, homeowners insurance and even by carrying a spare tire in your vehicle. Shouldn’t we also prepare for natural disasters? Shouldn’t we also prepare for economic bad times, power outages, water shortages, closed supermarkets and invaders into our homes?

Hopefully you can see the logic in being prepared. It doesn’t matter where you live you need to be prepared. To start on your journey of being prepared, the first thing you should do is know yourself and anticipate your fears and needs. Then you will be on the correct path and the rest will fall into line.
